Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions that might help you out

Is the course right for me and my child?

Every parent is different, just as every child is different. The course takes account of this, giving parents guidance, advice, insights and tools that focus on the aspects of learning that are true for all children. Plus, you can adapt, modify and develop all the practical strategies, activities and techniques so they work for you and your child.

What if my child is older than eleven?

The course is aimed primarily at parents of 5-11 year-olds. Older children tend to be more independent and the focus of their learning is a little more specific and a little less general. However, many of the insights and ideas remain relevant for older children and advice is given on how to adapt lots of the practical strategies so they work for older children.

What if my child is younger than five?

If your child is three or four years old, there are many elements of the course that will be appropriate for them. You will be able to use lots of the strategies, activities and techniques with your child. However, some of the material may be a little too complex for them and you may need to simplify some of the strategies, activities and techniques. Of course, you will be able to continue using all the insights and guidance from the course as your child grows older.

How flexible is the course?

Completely flexible. On enrolment you get access to all sections. You can watch all the videos in one go (though that might take a while!), or you can keep returning to the course over a week, a month or even a year. Whatever works for you. The sections are presented in order, but you can jump ahead if you see something you can’t wait to get stuck into – like language or creative thinking, for example.

How long do I have access to the course?

After enrolling, you have unlimited access to the course for as long as you like – across any and all devices you own.

When does the course start and finish?

The course starts as soon as you enroll…and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online course – you decide when to start and you decide when to finish.

How long will it take to complete the course?

That’s up to you. Some parents might choose to work through all of the course in a short period of time – a week, say – and print off the guides and cheat sheets to use in the future. Other parents might prefer to do one section a week, or to fit the course around their other commitments over a few months.
